National Monument Tourism Object, Jakarta
National Monument Tourism Object - The National Monument or better known as Monas is a memorial monument erected to commemorate the resistance and struggle of the Indonesian people to win independence from Dutch colonialism. This monas monument has a height of 132 meters or 433 feet.

The Monas Tourism Object was built on August 17, 1961, and was an order from President Soekarno, the monas were opened to the public on August 17, 1975. Above the top of the Monas Monument is a symbol in the form of a tongue of flame covered with gold, this symbol of the flames symbolizes the fighting spirit of the Indonesian people to seize independence from the Colonial Dutch East Indies.

The National Monument Tourism Object is located right in the middle of Medan Merdeka Square, Central Jakarta. This monument and museum are open every day from 08.00 - 15.00 WIB. On Monday the last week of every month, Monas Tour is closed to the public.
