Karimunjawa Island Tourism Object - Karimunjawa is an archipelago in the Java Sea which is included in the territory of Jepara Regency, Central Java. With a land area of ± 1,500 hectares and waters of ± 110,000 hectares, Karimunjawa is now starting to be developed into a Karimunjawa Marine Park tour which is much loved by local and foreign tourists.
Based on the legend circulating in the archipelago, Karimunjawa Island was discovered by Sunan Muria. The legend tells of Sunan Muria who is concerned about the misbehavior of his son, Amir Hasan. The plants that characterize the Karimunjawa National Park area are Dewa Daru (Crystocalyx macrophilia) which are found in lowland rain forests. The waves in Karimunjawa are low and docile, bordered by beaches that are mostly fine white sand beaches.
To visit the Karimunjawa Island Tourism Area, the most commonly used transportation is shipping from Semarang and Jepara. From the Port of Tanjung Emas, Semarang, the Kartini I ship (fast boat) departs every Saturday at 9 am to Karimunjawa and returns from Karimunjawa every Sunday afternoon, the crossing takes around 2-3 hours.
Meanwhile, from the Kartini Beach Port, Jepara there is the Muria Ship which departs every two days, the duration of this economy ship crossing is +/- 6 hours of sailing. It should be noted that the shipping schedule from the port of Jepara usually departs Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at 9 am and from Karimunjawa to Jepara Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday at 8 am. The Port of Jepara can also bring cars and motorbikes to be crossed to Karimunjawa Island.
The air route can be reached from Ahmad Yani Airport, Semarang to Dewa Daru Airport on Kemujan Island with a CASA 212 type charter aircraft provided by PT. Nusa Permai Marine Tourism (Kura-Kura Resort). Travel time is approximately 30 minutes.
