Garuda Wisnu Kencana Bali Cultural Park Tour

Garuda Wisnu Kencana Bali Cultural Park Tour

Garuda Wisnu Kencana Tourism Object - Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park is a tourist park located in the southern part of the island of Bali, precisely in Tanjung Nusa Dua, Badung Regency, about 40 kilometers south of Denpasar City, Bali. This Cultural Park area is located at an altitude of 146 meters above ground level or 263 meters above sea level.

In this tourist park area, there is a Garuda statue. Right behind Plaza Wisnu is the Garuda Plaza where the 18-meter-tall statue of Garuda is temporarily placed. At this time, Garuda Plaza became the focal point of a large alley of limestone carved pillars covering more than 4000 square meters of open space, namely the Lotus Pond. Colossal limestone pillars and the monumental statue of Lotus Pond Garuda make the space very exotic. With a room capacity that can accommodate up to 7000 people, Lotus Pond has earned a good reputation as the perfect place to hold large and international events.

There is also a statue of Vishnu's hand which is part of the statue of Lord Vishnu. This is one step closer to completing the complete Garuda Wisnu Kencana statue. This work is temporarily placed in the Tirta Agung area.

Tour on Garuda Wisnu Kencana

Vishnu Plaza
Panoramic view of Wisnu Plaza
Wisnu Plaza is the highest ground in the GWK area where our place is temporarily the most important part of the Garuda Wisnu Kencana statue of Vishnu.

At certain times of the day, there will be some traditional Balinese performances with a magnificent statue of Vishnu as a backdrop. Due to its high location, you can see the surrounding panorama. The statue of Vishnu, the focal point of Wisnu Plaza, is surrounded by a fountain and a nearby sacred well which is said to never run dry even in the dry season.

Parahyangan Somaka Giri is placed next to the statue of Vishnu. This is where the water is located, which historically has been believed by the people of the area as a blessing with strong magical powers to cure ailments and to ask the gods for rain during dry seasons. Due to its location on high ground (on a hill), this natural phenomenon is considered sacred and local people believe it to be holy water.

Street Theatre
Street Theater is the starting and ending point for a visit to the Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park. Here we can find many shops and restaurants in one place and where all the celebrations happen.

You can get Balinese souvenirs and GWK merchandise, especially at the GWK Souvenir Shop and Bali Art Market. We can even find Balinese spa and aromatherapy products in this shop. While here, why not try Balinese foot reflexology after a day of sightseeing. We can taste good food at the best price only at our food court, Theater Food, and our newest restaurant, The Veranda with a you-can-eat package.

At several times a day, we can enjoy shopping and eating while accompanied by Balinese performances especially such as barong, rindik, and parade.

Lotus Pond
Lotus Pond is the largest outdoor area at Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK) and Taman Budaya, most likely, in Bali. Thus, Lotus Pond is the right and only place to hold large-scale outdoor events.

Over the years, GWK has been trusted to hold large-scale events, both nationally and internationally, at Lotus Pond such as music concerts, international meetings, and big parties. Lotus Pond is a unique place with limestone pillars on the sides and a magnificent statue of Garuda in the background.

Lotus Pond originates from the lotus. The lotus is the main symbol of beauty, prosperity, and fertility. Vishnu also always carries a lotus flower in his hand and almost all the gods of Hindu gods sit on the lotus or carry flowers.

Some interesting facts are that the lotus plant grows in water, has roots in us or mud, and spreads flowers in the air above. Thus, the lotus symbolizes human life and also that of the cosmos.

Akar teratai tenggelam dalam lumpur merupakan kehidupan material. Tangkai melewatkan melalui air melambangkan eksistensi di dunia astral. Bunga mengambang di atas air dan membuka ke langit adalah emblematical spiritual sedang.

Indraloka Garden
This park is named Indraloka after the paradise of God Indra because of the beautiful panoramic views. Indraloka Garden is one of the favorite places in Garuda Wisnu Kencana to hold small and medium parties, gatherings, and wedding ceremonies. We can see the view of Bali from above Indraloka Garden.

Amphitheater
The Amphitheater is an outdoor venue for special performances with well-designed acoustics. Every evening you can watch the famous Kecak dance and it's free, which is from around 18.30 to 19.30 WITA. Even this Kecak Dance can collaborate with other regional dances.

Tirtha Agung
Tirta Agung is the perfect outdoor space for medium-sized events. You can also visit the Hand of Vishnu statue, part of the Garuda Wisnu Kencana statue which is located nearby.
