Talking about tourism in D.I Yogyakarta seems to never end, this city full of history has a lot of natural attractions that contain historical value, one of which is the Selarong Cave Nature Tourism Object. The cave, which is located in the Kembang Putihan area, Guwosari, Pajangan, Bantul, Yogyakarta, is located in limestone hills about 35 meters high and filled with dense trees. History of Goa Selarong
In the Javanese war that occurred from 1825 to 1830, it was always synonymous with the figure of a horse warrior with a white turban and a dagger. Who doesn't know Prince Diponegoro? The history of his struggle cannot be separated from the existence of this one sacred place, namely Goa Selarong. At that time, Goa Selarong became one of the important places for him, this place was not only used as a hideout but to set a war strategy with the Colonials.

The shape of Selarong Cave is like a basin which is only about 3 m wide, about 2 m high, and about 3 m deep. Selarong Cave has two adjoining caves, namely Lanang Cave (the cave used by P Diponegoro to strategize and hide Prince Diponegoro) and Wadon Cave (the former residence of RA Ratnaningsih, the Prince's wife). The word Selarong comes from "Selo" which means rock and "rong" which means hole.
